RETHINKING THE CAM

Traditional climbing gear can be cumbersome, not only in your pack, but on the wall. Climbers have come up with all kinds of tricks to keep these guys compact, from wire ties to sticks placed in the lobes.

I imagine adding a mechanism that will be familiar to climbers, which is essential when you’re struggling to quickly place a cam on the wall.

The screw lock would have a half thread and latch onto the base of the cam. This would keep the cam locked, but be able to unlock with a simple one handed twist.
